RCW General Contractors is a family-owned and operated construction company proudly serving Michigan since 1994. We are committed to delivering exceptional building services with a common-sense, cost-conscious approach – ensuring the highest quality outcomes at the most reasonable cost.

Founded by Richard Wood in 1994, RCW draws upon a legacy of decades in the commercial construction industry. Richard began his career in the late 1960s and rose through the ranks to oversee projects ranging from small remodels to high-rise developments. Today, he leads RCW with a steady focus on operational and financial oversight.

Brandon Wood joined full-time in 2006, following his degree in Construction Management from Michigan State University. As Vice President, Brandon oversees all aspects of the company, ensuring RCW continues to meet the highest standards of quality and client satisfaction.

We proudly continue to serve our clients with a foundation built on honesty, efficiency, and excellence in every project we undertake.

Curt Wood served as Vice President since the founding of RCW. His knowledge, leadership, and unwavering commitment helped shape RCW into the trusted company it is today. Curt was known not only for his construction expertise but also for his rare ability to turn professional relationships into lifelong friendships.

He is deeply missed. As a leader, a colleague, a brother, and a son.

Richard Wood founded the company in 1994 with a vision rooted in craftsmanship, integrity, and a lifelong passion for commercial construction. With over 40 years in the industry, Richard built more than just structures. He built enduring relationships grounded in knowledge, hard work, and trust.

Alongside his beloved wife, Barbara, he ran the business with heart and purpose, creating a family legacy that lives on today. Richard passed down his passion and talent to his sons, Curt and Brandon Wood, both of whom proudly followed in his footsteps.

Though Richard passed in 2024, his values continue to shape every project, every partnership, and every promise made.

This award was given to Richard Wood and RCW for their timely completion of the TGI Friday’s build done in the Rivertown Crossings Mall. This build was done within the final stages of construction of the Rivertown Crossing Mall. RCW was awarded the job with less than 60 days to complete the project. This was due to the completion date of the mall, in which all construction activities must cease. RCW’s management ensured the project would be completed within the time frame.
